Well, in an effort to try to get some conversation started in this community, let me introduce myself.
Hi, I'm HK. :) I've been a ballroom dancer for a little over a year now. My wife and I decided to take ballroom dancing lessons a few months before our wedding because we both wanted to be able to actually DANCE a wedding dance. A friend of ours suggested Arthur Murray and we ended up checking them out and taking lessons through them.
What's funny, I guess, is that when I started taking lessons I know that I, personally, really fell for ballroom dancing. It sort of blindsided me that I REALLY enjoyed dancing, a passion that I still feel. :)
The wife and I are both Bronze I students through Arthur Murray, nearly Bronze II students meaning.. I know the basics and a few moves in seven dances: Foxtrot, Waltz, Tango, Swing, "Club Swing" (it will become the Hustle later), Rumba and Cha-Cha. I also know the very basic steps of Salsa, Samba and Merengue.
I love dancing and I am very excited about moving up the ladder somewhat to learn some new moves and, no doubt, making my basics even stronger than they are now. :)
So.. tell me about yourself. :) How did you get into ballroom dancing and what do you dance? :)
